a {bed}Room of ones own

Looking at the images I have kept on file as bedroom inspiration
this natural tones collage came to mind.
It seems to be the palette I am favouring at the moment

I love the idea of not having to get out of bed to enjoy the view

As much as I like the natural tones I am never able to discard colour.
I think these cushions are perfect to break the tasteful monotony
of a toned down palette.

I've always wanted a four-poster bed - this one looks perfect, especially as we have a few trees that need chopping down!

Another four-poster
another toned down palette,
but this time a bit warmer with more pattern and textural detail.

I really like the layout of the bedroom below with the bath behind the bed.

Sometimes it is the smallest decorative detail that makes the difference,
like this posy vase attached to the wall.

And of course no bedroom is complete without a place to put your book alongside the bed.

tea in . . . Arenas del Rey

A brief ferry trip across the straits takes you from the Port of Tanger to the shore of Spain,
and just a little further inland,
towards the Siera Nevada,
is this pretty house in the Andalusian village of Arenas del Rey.

It can be found on a quiet street
just across the way from the bakery - so not far to go for a morning treat with your coffee!

And not far from magnificent scenery like this

Take a peek through a window

into one of the three bedrooms.

Touches from the owners travels add to the ambiance.

And the double volume living area creates a sense of space.

Step out from the kitchen into the privacy of an outdoor living area.

Some Moroccan  blues are a perfect addition to this Spanish holiday home.

Finally candlelight and shadows at the end of the day.

In Morocco with Billabong

I very rarely simply re-post images or posts, and do try to generate my own content, or at the very least put it into my own context - but these images via WolfCub Chronicles by photographer and stylist Brydie Mack   are lovely and, I thought, worth sharing.
They were taken while on a shoot for Billabong, and she has captured
 the tones and textures beautifully.

If you enjoy gazing at these images, have a look HERE for more.

Beautiful don't you think . . .
Which is your favourite ?
I love the one of the sandals on the worn tiles.

dar-souk {a house market}

I have just added a new page to this blog
dar-souk {a house market}

I think that explains it pretty well
I hope it is a project that will grow with time.

Dar Bibine

Some tea-in-tunisia for the weekend - with a healthy dose of turquoise to herald in the sunshine!
I've kept this on file for some time now - so many features and details I love in this guest house {Dar Bibine} in the medina of Erriadh.
